Frederick Charles "Freddy" Krueger, soprannominato a volte "Fred", è un personaggio cinematografico immaginario, assoluto antagonista della saga di film horror Nightmare. In vita era un assassino seriale, con particolare interesse per l'infanticidio. Fu ucciso per vendetta dai suoi stessi concittadini e ottenne, dopo la morte, la capacità di manifestarsi nei sogni altrui, che sfrutta per tormentare ed uccidere i figli dei responsabili della sua morte.
In tutte le pellicole della serie originale viene interpretato da Robert Englund, ed è così noto che l'attore è di solito associato al personaggio. Nel remake del 2010, il personaggio è interpretato da Jackie Earle Haley. Freddy Krueger compare al 40º posto nella lista AFI's 100 Years... 100 Heroes and Villains, stilata dalla American Film Institute nel 2003.
