Lioness
Lions are the only felines to live in packs; these are family units that can comprise from one to three males and about a dozen females with their cubs. The lionesses of the same herd are all related to each other and the female cubs, as they grow up, remain within the herd in which they saw the light.
Lionesses are the hunters of the pack and often prey in groups and attack antelopes, zebras, wildebeest and other large mammals of the prairies. Females are often faster than male lions, and teamwork makes for great booties. After the hunt, joint efforts to kill the prey degenerate into a general brawl over the division of the parts, with the pups doomed at the base of the hierarchical pyramid.
