Viper
This 925 Silver ring depicting a Viper is part of the "Animals Hugs" collection.
These snakes are characterized by a triangular and pointed head, with a stocky body and a short, tapered tail.
They have a gland located in the posterior and lateral region of the head that produces a poison formed by a high percentage of water, several highly toxic albumin and other enzymatic proteins that act on the tissues, on blood clotting and, sometimes, on the system nervous. To inoculate this venom they use long canaliculated mobile fangs which, when the snake opens its mouth, form an angle of 90 ° with the jaw and in case of bite penetrate the skin of the prey and inject the venom through the channels; when they close their mouths the fangs are rotated against the palate.
