Matt Shadows
M. Shadows grew up in Huntington Beach where as a young man he was a member of the punk group Successful Failure. During his time with this group, Shadows wrote many songs including Streets, which he then recorded with Avenged Sevenfold for the album Sounding the Seventh Trumpet. In 1999 he left Successful Failure and founded with The Rev, his classmate in the Catholic school he attended, and Zacky Vengeance, with whom he shared guitar lessons, the Avenged Sevenfold. With this group he produced seven albums that led him to international success. In 2004 he was forced to have an operation on his vocal cords. In 2010 he participated in the recordings of the new solo album by Slash, guitarist of Guns N 'Roses, lending his voice in Nothing to Say.
