Jewel made entirely by hand by the Italian craftsman Gianmarco Fontana. Pendant depicting two dolphins made of 925 silver, which is part of the "Animalia" collection.
The term dolphin commonly indicates a paraphyletic group of marine mammals belonging to the order of cetaceans (suborder of Odontocetes) and which groups the families Delphinidae (oceanic dolphins) and Platanistoidea (river dolphins), whose members are generally small .
The narwhal and beluga are also occasionally referred to as dolphins, although they are the only ones in the Monodontidae family. Nearly 40 species of dolphin have been discovered divided into 17 genera. They range in size from 1.2 m and 40 kg (Cephalorhynchus hectori maui) to 9.5 m and 6 tons (orca). Most species weigh from 50 to 200 kg.
