Jewel made entirely by hand by the Italian craftsman Gianmarco Fontana. This ring depicting Julius Caesar is made of 925 silver which is part of the "Ancients" collection.
Césare, Gaius Julius (lat. C. Iulius Caesar). - Roman general, triunviro, dictator (Rome 100/102 - therein 44 BC). Born from a noble Roman family, he was banished from Silla; he served in the provinces of Asia Minor between 81 and 78, he was quaestor in 70, builder in 65, pope maximum in 63, praetor in Spain in 62. In Rome in 60 a. C. constituted the first triumvirate with Pompey and Crassus. Consul in 59, he conquered Gaul. Invited by the Senate to depose the imperium, he marched against Pompey in 49. Defeating his opponents in Spain, he also won the battle of Pharsalus, in Thessaly. Passing into Egypt, he defeated the Pompeians in Africa at Tapso and Munda. Returning to Rome, appointed dictator, he was killed in a conspiracy on March 15, 44 BC. C. while he was preparing for a military expedition to the East.
