Jewel made entirely by hand by the Italian craftsman Gianmarco Fontana. Ring made of 925 Silver, which is part of the "ANIMAL'S HUGS" collection depicting a pig.
The pig, also called swine or hog, is a domesticated suide belonging to the mammals of the order suiform artiodactyls. The fertile male is called boar, the female sow and the pups piglets; the latter, in particular, in turn are defined as verretti if male or gilts if female.
It is one of the most widespread and most used slaughter animals by man, also due to the wide range of derived by-products, ranging from highly specific processing of its meat to the exploitation of the bristles (hence the saying "of the pig nothing is thrown away "). The domestic pig belongs to the same species as the wild boar (Sus scrofa) and can breed with it.
The term pig derives from the Latin majalem ("castrated pig"), so called because it was often used as a sacrifice to Maia, mother of Mercury.
