John Carpenter and Debra Hill conceived the character for the film, which was originally to be called The Babysitter Murders, and the author named him that in gratitude to a real Michael Myers: the European distributor of his second film, District 13 - The death brigades.
Michael never speaks and his adult face is rarely seen in films.
